Lately I have been thinking that the name "William The Sound Guy" describes more of an individual and not a sound company. Therefore, I am migrating our entity to "William Sound Services", which better reflects a cooperative effort of doing live sound. ![]() For example, these days, most events are handled with the help of Frank Bell. Frank is an accomplished bass player and some years back was in the band "Bandtastic" with myself, James and Dean. Frank's attention to detail, musicianship and desire to work to make the bands sound their best is why he is suited as the 'A2' guy for William Sound Services. If your band has "William Sound" working your gig, you will most likely be having Frank dial in your on-stage mixes.

Frank and I enjoyed a day at the Huntington Beach doing sound for Crossroads Band. It was lovely weather - just a day before hurricane Hilary Blew in!
Frank and I did a gig with our 'Jimmy's Buffet' Jimmy Buffet tribute band. Thought I would have fun and video us setting up for the gig and speed it up. Here we are in action!
I have another new product that I am introducing that will be available on my gigproducts.com site. It's called the SLaP!Click here to check it out on my gigproducts.com siteDerrick Martin (D'Mar") - DrummerFrank Bell and I recently worked sound at a private event for Texas recording artist Lara Price. The band was made up of local California musicians which included drummer Derrick Martin. Derrick (D'Mark) toured for 17 years with the Little Richard band. Check out Derrick's very original drum solo. Celebrating New Years Eve with a sound gig for Flux Capacitors! We were in the middle of the California desert performing for a group of RV people! The guest singer (the guy I am standing with) was Danny Cooksey, best know as the little red headed guy on the TV series Different Strokes. He was also in the Terminator 2 movie and other things like "Salute Your Shorts" on Nickelodeon. It was a great time. A shout out to my great co-engineer Frank Bell for helping me out with the gig.
Wow! I can't believe it, but four of my good sound friends all showed up at my Hangar 24 gig last Friday! Even in the hot weather! What a pleasant surprise!! Great friends!
Don Solo (not in the picture) is a guitar tech at a music store and a sound guy for the Bill Doddridge band. He showed up earlier that day for a while. Joaquin (top-left) is my trusty assistant for many events. He showed up to help set up and pack, even though he wasn't hired for the event! A great human being! Joaquin also plays drums in a band or two. Carmelo (center) is another musician/sound guy. I gave him digital mixer training. A super nice guy, and a guitar player in his own band as well. Danny (top-right) is also is a drummer/musician but mostly does professional sound full time. I do sound for him on occasion when he is double-booked. I also advise him on PC and tablet connection things. Danny - another superb guy. And then there is me. Another super guy! LOL! "Back To The Future" |
